I was expecting minimalist minced pork and sauce over rice, but it came fully loaded with flavor egg and dried meat flakes. I like how many different things they try to put onto the bowl of rice. Every bite was never boring.
The noodle is plainer but it taste better the noodle at Mimi's House which is a very good thing.
They didn't have ice-dripped coffee but they have hand-beaten coffee. I saw the barista beating hard in the cup for a long time to make this. Maybe a little too much effort for a cup of coffee :P The middle cup is simple syrup and the cup on the right is creamer, both of those I didn't try.
The "crema" is different from any other coffee preparation. It is very creamy and milky but I could still taste the coffee. It reminds me of some of the tea lattes at Drip (not as good of course).
Tea Lane has two kinds of creme brulee. The waitress who's very sweet and friendly said that while a lot of people like the matcha with red bean version, she recommended we try the original flavor first. It was really good. The thickness of the sugar is just right, and the sugar is just burnt enough to give the bitterness but not overpowering. The cream itself is full of vanilla flavor, and balances with the bitter suger perfectly. I can honestly say this creme brulee can rival even some very good restaurants in Los Angeles.
The lunch really impressed me. It's full of Taiwanese flavor and it's clear they pay attention to everything they put out. On top of that it's very inexpensive, the staff is friendly and it's not crowded at all. I highly recommend this place.
