The half-broiled egg really is half-broiled this time. Good.
The Jijae Ramen is an interesting fusion with Korean taste (a little bit). The broth is filled with shrimp and spicy flavor. The broth is pretty strong, but the marinaded bamboo shoots managed to stand out on their own. The hard-broiled egg is a good balance to the strong flavors of the bowl. I do crave some kind of tea after the entire bowl though.
We also got the small fried rice. Wow! Perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The rice is cooked perfectly with pieces of salty pork and sweet onion. Definitely the best fried rice I've eaten in LA ramen restaurants so far.
The gyoza is just as good as last time. Not over oily and just burned enough. You can taste every ingredient in the gyoza itself.
Cross-section of gyoza.
After this second time, I am very impressed. Everything is well executed here, and they pay attention to every kind of ramen they serve. Not only do they serve up tastes not found in Los Angeles, but they also provide the best versions of the usual stuff here. I highly recommend this place. Go early though. This time we went 5 minutes after they opened at 11:30, and there was already a few people there. By the time we left at around 12:40, there was a line of about eight people.
